Epitaph - The concrete and the clay beneath your feet
Epitaph is a next generation text MMO, built primarily by refugees from Discworld MUD. Epitaph was founded on December 17, 2009 and constructed using the Discworld mudlib. It's a game about survival, resource management, and personal discovery. We also have a few zombies here and there.
We have a tremendously deep and expressive craft system and a rich and varied set of combat commands. We have a wide range of stealth systems, along with hacking and cracking mechanics that allow you to investigate a world that is sometimes full of locked doors. We have the Maestro, who will assess how much excitement you can stand and then provide a little extra when you least expect it. We have ranged combat, and a wide range of interesting commands to go with it.
We have a more involved character development framework than you will find in most gaming environments - we have knacks you can purchase, moral codes you can assume, professions you can pick, stats you can rearrange, and a four-vector morality system where your actions have weight. We have a system of collaborative rewarding roleplaying through the awarding of points. We have quests! We have achievements! We even have clans and clan achievements! And you know? We've got more than this too.
Epitaph uses a highly modified Discworld mudlib which has been refactored in places, rewritten in parts, and expanded with our own highly advanced features. Unfortunately, there is currently no public release of the mudlib but this has not been ruled out for the future.
