An alarm is any object that has its behaviour triggered by the occurance of certain events such as movement or changes in light levels. Some of these devices may incorporate codes which can be used to arm or disarm them. Others have simpler methods - landmines for example can be armed by anyone, and disarmed by the convenient mechanism of standing on them.
