Powered Device - FEED ME

Description

Many of the items you will encounter in your travels are powered devices - they need some kind of power source in order to function at full capacity. Such devices must have their power supplies managed, and be kept fed with power to ensure that they can be used properly. Power sources come in a variety of different classes, such as small batteries (like the ones that power most small consumer goods), large batteries (like the kind that power cars), and petrol.

Using A Powered Item

Some items must be activated to be used - this will start them consuming their power. Different devices have different power consumption rates. Other items cannot be activated, but will consume power according to different criteria. For example, the minigun consumes power when it is fired and does not require activation. When you are finished using the device, you must deactivate it to stop the power drain. Remember to do this! Batteries are a scarce resource in the grim future of the zombie apocolypse.

Recharging A Powered Item

If your item uses batteries, you can charge the device using the 'power' syntax. You must have the right kind of battery for the device. If it's a battery device, you can also eject its current batteries to use them in another device. If it's a petrol device, you will need to 'fuel' the device from an appropriate container. Likewise, you can 'siphon' fuel from petrol devices into an appropriate container.

Example

> fuel chainsaw from can
You fill the petrol powered chainsaw from the small plastic petrol can to the brim.

> activate chainsaw You pull a cord on the petrol powered chainsaw, activating it. The petrol powered chainsaw starts up with a deafening roar.

> say AHAHAHAHAHAHAH! You exclaim: AHAHAHAHAHAHAH!
